ABOUT
A native of North Carolina, Anna paints from her light-filled home studio in Winston-Salem, where she lives with her high school sweetheart turned husband, their spirited son, and their standard poodle, who happily serves as her studio assistant.
Growing up in nearby High Point, NC – “the furniture capital of the world” – Anna developed an innate appreciation for craftsmanship that stands the test of time, and a reverence for objects made with intention and skill – values that now inform her own artistic approach. Like a beautifully crafted piece of furniture that becomes more cherished over time, her paintings grow increasingly meaningful as they witness family histories unfold.
As a student at Wake Forest University, Anna pursued degrees in both Art and Psychology - a combination that proves especially informative for her portrait work as it allows her to see beyond the surface to capture presence, character and essence.
Motherhood has further refined her artistic vision, noting “there’s nothing like a mother’s eye for noticing the fleeting expressions that reveal someone’s personality.”
Anna approaches each commission with this unique blend of influences: an eye for design, a mind attuned to human complexity, and a heart that understands the desire to preserve what matters most.
Today, her work can be found in homes throughout the United States and beyond, as well as gracing the walls of numerous small businesses in her community. When she’s not painting or on carpool duty, you can find Anna playing mahjong with friends, working with her garden club to beautify local spaces, or planning her next party.
MEET THE ARTIST

"Like my favorite dinner parties,
commissioning art should feel special,
yet totally comfortable".
THE PROCESS
Whether you have a house full of custom art, or you’re just dipping your toes into the commissioning waters, here’s what you need to know.
-
A friendly chat about what draws you to my work, the space where your art will live, and the feelings you hope it evokes. We can talk through the offerings and options, and what photographs* will work best for your selection. This important first step ensures we have all the right ingredients to cook up something beautiful together.
I prefer to take the photos at my home studio but when we can’t, I can talk you through what I need. In some cases photographs from your archives will work, but other times we will need to schedule photos with a photographer in your area.
-
This is where the magic begins to take shape! Once we’ve established the direction for our piece, I will create preliminary sketches and color studies for your project.
There’s nothing like seeing your vision begin to materialize!
-
I know it’s hard to wait, so while I work on your piece, you will receive periodic updates with photographs of the work progress, ensuring we are on the same page with your vision.
The working timeline for your piece will depend on a number of factors, including the medium, the size, and the season, which will be covered in our consultation.
-
My favorite part! When your piece is complete, I will arrange a showing if you are local, or provide you with high quality photographs before arranging for framing* and delivery.
*framing is additional & optional, I am happy to handle the logistics locally or I will provide you with guidelines to use with a frame shop local to you.
-
Whether you are down the street or across the country, your artwork will be delivered with the utmost care and attention, and will include installation guidelines* and care instructions to preserve the quality of your piece.
*installation can be arranged for local clients.
